well since my eyes where half shut when I wrote my first essay lets try this again
Other than myself, who is the best poker player that I know? Well there are many of you that my be reading this thinking that I know I am better that you! Well this may be true but until you beat me in a heads up match I will more than likely strongly disagree. You may catch a couple of luckly draws on me but it will take a long time for me to put in all of my chips on a coin flip.
However, since I have to pick someone that I fell is better than me, I would have to say that one player would have to be (drum roll inserted here) Troy. There are many factors for this reasoning.
The first factor would be that beside my self I really don't feel that there is anyone else that love to set at a poker table for hours more that me. Troy can just seem to set for hours thru junk hands after junk hands just waiting for someone to make the last mistake of the night. I my self have seen Troy set for hours at a final table and fold, fold, fold, fold, and fold some more and at the end of the night to walk away with a cruise. Troy just likes to take his time in each desion that he makes reguard less if it is just calling the blind, or weather to check or raise in the big blind.
Rescently I got to set a a final table with Troy again. We were both on a short stack with the chip leader having a four to one lead over both of us. Now the thrid player in this story will remain nameless cause I don't plan on being every nice. Troy and I have been trying hard to make a dent in the chip leader, however no matter how much on of would raise the chip leader would call he even call a raise from Troy with 5,2 off suit. Now this player was catching card like a mother however there just has to be a time when they come to there right mind and throw away a hand. Well however this did not happen for most of the night. Finally I decied to make the chip leader have a good hand. Well seeing that he call just about everything I went in with a desent hand and was finally out. However Troy was still in and for almost 45 mins to a hour he set and tried to battle back. When it was all over he was out in second, however then hand that he got call with was again one of those hands that any person of sound mind would quickly throw away with a raised pot. The hand that end the night of maddness was like I said above 5,2 off suit. The final hand had troy with two pair jacks and fives with a king kicker and the other player with a river set of fives.
Another reason is Troy abilty to make desicions at the poker table. I my self don't like to see what the flop holds after I throw what in my mind is a junk hand away. Troy when Troy has to make the decision to play a coin flip hand he thinks long and hard about what is going to happen. He seems to be able to look past the hats, sunglasses, and even in some cases my own earphones. Troy much like my self are not the type of players that will only play aces and kings but after a while or in the early rounds get in the mix with high margianl hands. Now I am not saying that either one of us would play a seven two off suit in early postion for a raise but in late postion maybe something like my favorite jacks and fives (good old motown) with a called pot. However, when it comes time to make the tough descision Troy maybe better at being able to set and make the descion when it is time to but all you money in before the flop.
Overall, I see Troy as someone that is a better poker player than myself. There may be many that disagree with this fact however, like I said I will have to strongly disagree with you until you set down with me and play a heads up match with something more that just smiles and grins on the line.
